1906-1992

Services for Roy Swanson, 85, Klemme, who died April 6, 1992, were held Thursday, April 9, 1:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme with Rev. Don Walters officiating.

Music was provided by Diane Stadtlander, organist, and vocalist, Bill Renner.

Casket bearers were Adam Johnson, Ron Swanson, Eugene Swanson, Dick Rutz, Gene Bachman and Clark Neary.

Honorary bearers were all of Roy's friends.

Burial was at the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme with Tenold Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Roy Eugene Swanson, the son of Oscar and Anna (Dahlgran) Swanson, was born July 12, 1906 at Morris, IL. He moved with his family in 1911 to their newly acquired farm two miles east of Klemme.

November 24, 1937, Roy married Lyda Christina Haberkamp at the Peace Reformed Church parsonage by pastor William Hueneman. They lived on and farmed the land east of town until they retired in 1975. They continued to reside on the farm until 1983 when they moved to Klemme.

He is survived by his wife, Lyda; daughters, Sharleen Kay Roth and Judith Ann Johnson and her husband, Richard, all of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Nancy Lynne Roth Boehm, Joan Annette Roth Dresback, Brent Allen Roth and Adam Christopher Johnson; great-granddaughter, Amanda Lynne Boehm; sisters, Edith Lemke of Seal Beach, CA, Dora Lawhorn of Long Beach, CA, Ethel Haynes of Hemet, CA and Phyllis Loeffler of Inverness, FL; also brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law, nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary, Esther, twin sister Ruth; and brothers, Albert, Carl and Leonard.
