Services for Ethel Marie Sobek, 71, Klemme, who died Wednesday, March 16, 1988 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held Saturday, March 19, 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Klemme with Rev. Herb Shafer officiating.

Music was provided by Mrs. Muriel Schulz, organist, who accompanied a duet of Mrs. Bev Thorson and Mrs. Margaret Guth, and a congregational hymn.

Casket bearers were Rick Sobek, Danny Sobek, Jim Bachman, Kevin Bachman, Mike Chelesvig and, Rick Chelesvig.

Burial was at Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme with Tenold Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Marie (Netland) Sobek, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Scheppler) Netland, was born July 28, 1916 at Clarion.

She was united in marriage to Fred Edward Sobek and they lived at Klemme. Fred died in 1971 and Ethel continued to live in Klemme.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Clark of Beaman, and Mrs. Sheryll Klesel of Garner; five sons, Roger, Roland and Glen of Klemme, Douglas of Meservey, and Rodney of Panora; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Bachman of Meservey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; one brother; and one sister.
