May Michelson Services June 22

Services for Mrs. May Michelson, 81, of Garner, who died Monday at Concord Manor Nursing Home in Garner, will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 22nd, at the United Methodist Church in Garner. Rev. Henry T. Hackman will officiate, using the Twenty-Third Psalm and John 14 as his text.

Organist, Mrs. Chet Stille, will accompany Mrs. John Trone, who will sing "How Great Thou Art" and "Shall We Gather At The River."

Casketbearers will be grandsons: Gregory Greiman, Darrell Michelson, Robert Michelson, Doyce Michelson, Leslie Smith and Roger Sogard.

Burial will be in Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha. Friends may call until time of service at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

May Pauline Michelson, the daughter of Andrew and Anna A. (Carlson) Johnson was born April 24, 1897 at Pilot Mound, Iowa. She moved with her family to Kanawha where she attended the rural schools. After the death of her father in 1905 she and her mother and the rest of the family continued to farm in the Kanwaha area.

December 23, 1915, she was married to Lester H. Michelson at Clarion. They farmed in the Kanawha area until 1925 when they moved to Crystal Lake where they continued to farm. They retired into Crystal Lake in 1953.

Mr. Michelson died December 23, 1954. Mrs. Michelson and her daughter, Vivian, moved to Garner in 1961 where they have since resided.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Woman's Organization, the American Legion Auxiliary and Navy Mothers. She liked to work in the garden and to bake. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Mrs. Howard (Pauline) Greiman of Garner, Raymond and his wife, Ardith of Goodell, Vivian of Garner, Duane and his wife, Blanche of Britt, Allen and his wife, Wanda of Manchester and Mrs. Vernon (Beverly) Smith of Waterloo; 26 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Alice) Riehm of Britt; 5 sisters-in-law; and 3 brothers-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; her parents, 2 brothers, Gerhard and Julius Johnson and a sister, Mrs. Cecil (Laura) Zeigler.
