HAUGE, ELVEBAK, LANGERUD, COOLEY, KAMISH, ZIMMERMAN

James Hauge rites 1:30 p. m. Thursday

Funeral services for James E. Hauge, 78, who died Sunday in a Mission, Texas, hospital, will be held at 1:30 Thursday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. Steven Dornbusch and the Rev. John Hieronymus officiating.

Mrs. Truman Haugen and Wendy Loken will sing with Leonard Markusen, organist.

Casket bearers will be Gene Cooley, Jerry Donohue, Kim Haugen, David Jackson, Don Jackson Jr. and James Wooldridge.

Burial will be in Madison township cemetery with the Petersen Funeral home in charge.

Mr. Hauge was born at the farm home of his parents, Andrew and Breta (Elvebak) Hauge, near Thompson Feb. 3, 1905. He received his education in the rural schools and then attended Waldorf college.

He married Amie Langerud April 2, 1930. He drove a freight delivery truck in Forest City, for a time, then farmed near Buffalo Center from 1940 to 1950. In 1953 the Hauges moved to Des Moines where he was employed as a stationary engineer for KRNT theatre. He retired in 1973 and the couple moved back to Forest City.

For the last nine years Mr. and Mrs. Hauge have spent their winters in Mission, Texas. Mr. Hauge suffered a massive heart attack Friday and died at the hospital there Sunday morning.

He is survived by his wife, Amie; a son, Marcus Hauge of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ardella Cooley of Watertown, S. Dak., and Mrs. Elnora Kamish of Forest City; two brothers, Milton Hauge of Temple City, Calif., and Norman Hauge of Martin, S. Dak., and two grandchildren, Mardeaux Zimmerman and Marcus Hauge.
