Former Britt Girl Dies at Oklahoma City, Okla.

Word reached Britt last Wednesday of the sudden death of Mrs. Warren Elvin Campbell at her home at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, December 11 at 1:30. Friends had received word from the family stating she was in apparently good health and her death comes as a shock to her numerous Britt friends.

Mrs. Campbells maiden name was Alta Rogers, daughter of F. B. and Anna Rogers, her mother preceding her in death *** years ago. She was born in Clayton county, Iowa ****** . She ****** then in the Britt schools graduating with the class of 1895. She remained in Britt after ****** and assisted her father in the Post Office when he was Post Master. She took an active part in all church and Sunday school activities in the M. E. church and was very popular among the young folks. On December 21 1904 she was united in marriage to Mr. W. E. Campbell at Britt and three children were born to this union, one daughter, Franca and two sons, Warren and Rogers who are at home. They have made their home in several places in the United States and a few months ago they moved to their present home in Oklahoma City, but previous to this they resided in San Benito, Texas, now the home of her father F. B. Rogers.

Besides her husband, children and father she leaves to mourn her death a step-mother and two brothers, E. L. Rogers, of Cedar Rapids, and Earl Rogers, of Gary, South Dakota.

Funeral services were held at Oklahoma City, Friday morning and the body was placed in a vault and in the spring it will be shipped to Britt for burial beside her mother.

F. B. Rogers is in Britt today looking after the burial of his daughter, Alta Campbell, whose body was transferred from Oklahoma City, Okla., where it has lain in a vault for the past eighteen months. Warren Campbell, a grandson, is here also.
