Alvin Goll, 72

Services for Alvin Goll, 72, Klemme, who died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Mason City, were held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 12, at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme with Rev. James A. Laak as officiant. Mrs. Ronald TenHaken, organist, accompanied Gordon and Ione Beier who sang "How Great Thou Art" and "There Will Be Peace In The Valley." Casket bearers were: Ardell Rosendahl, Mervin Barkema, Edwin Thiemann, Carl Pearson, Mitchell Bock and Paul Thiemann. Burial was in Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme. Cataldo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Alvin William Goll, the son of Gottlieb and Augusta (Schlawin) Goll, was born January 3, 1907 on a farm southeast of Klemme. He was confirmed in the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ and attended the rural schools of Klemme. He farmed for his brother on the Goll home farm east of Klemme for several years. February 12, 1930 he married Golda Moberly at Klemme. They farmed on the Goll home place until 1937 and the the Moberly farm until retiring in 1965 due to ill health. The last 14 years they have made their winter home in Mesa, Arizona.

He was a member of the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ and served on the Consistory. He was a past president of the Klemme Cooperative Creamery and had served for 25 years on the board of directors of Hancock County Coop Oil Association in Garner. He enjoyed winter sports and activities.

He is survived by his wife, Golda; a son, Lyle and his wife, Gloria, of Klemme; 2 grandchildren, Brian and Valerie; a brother, Paul of Klemme; 2 sisters, Mrs. LeRoy (Emma) Johnson of Klemme and Mrs. Donald (Elizabeth) Hinrichsen of Rock Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Edna Wille.
