Services for Margaret A. Arnold, 91, Klemme, who died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at the Tweten Lutheran Health Care Center in Spring Grove, MN, were held Saturday, Feb. 15, 11 a.m., at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme with Pastor Georgia White-Kisslring officiating.

Music was provided by Diane Stadtlander, organist, who accompanied Lance Arnold, vocalist, and the congregational hymns. Ushers were Lenetta Woiwood and Troy Smeby.

Casket bearers were Luverne Schmidt, Donald Latham, Ronald Brinkman, Carroll Priebe, Gary Schwartz and Brian Schwartz.

Burial was at the Concord Township Cemetery, Garner, with Tenold Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Margaret A. Arnold, the daughter of Wilbur and Angie I. H. (Hobbs) Carr, was born February 23, 1905, on a farm two miles east of Garner. She graduated from Garner High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from Iowa State College in 1929. She taught school in Walnut.

December 27, 1933, she married Fred J. Arnold. They moved to Klemme and to the union, a son, Fred R., was born August 1, 1938.

After the death of her husband, she continued to live in KIemme where she has been a member of the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ since 1933. She served on the school board for several years in the 1940's and 1950's, served as city clerk, member of the O.E.S. for over 50 years, and served O.E.S. in several capacities. She enjoyed gardening, especially her rose gardening, and was the bookkeeper for her husband's implement business, the Klemme Implement Co.

She is survived by her son, Fred R. Arnold and his wife, Barbara of Caledonia, MN; granddaughters, Marie Arnold and Elsa Arnold; and a sister-in-law, Marion Arnold of Klemme.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Fred J. Arnold, on December 30, 1974.
