Pioneer Of Hancock County Laid To Rest In Madison Cemetery
John Valley Of Crystal Lake Passed Away After Operation For Cancer

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the residence in Forest City for John Valley, 70 years old, pioneer of Hancock county, who died Thursday, Nov. 7, from an operation for cancer.

Mr. Valley was one of the early settlers of the Crystal Lake community, having lived for many years on the large farm two miles east of that town. Owing to ill health he rented his farm a few years ago and moved to Forest City.

Funeral services were in charge of the Rev. Mr. Bush of the Methodist church and also the Masonic Order of Forest City. Burial was made in Madison cemetery.

Deceased leaves a wife, five sons and two daughters.
