Sudden and Unexpected Death of Martin Olson
Martin Olson died suddenly and unexpectedly last Sunday at the home of his brother in Clayton Co., where he went for a visit about 10 days ago. He had been in good health, but while seated in the house in his chair he complained of his heart paining him, but expressed the belief that the pain would pass away in a few seconds. But he soon sank back in his chair and passed away without a struggle.
Mr. Olson was 67 years old last Nov. He was born in Norway, and came to Wisconsin in 1866, then a few months later moved to Clayton Co., where he moved to Ellington. There he remained until 6 years ago when he moved into Clear Lake. In '78 he joined the Norwegian Lutheran church of which he was a faithful member until his death. For many years he was Sunday School superintendent at Ellington.
He leaves a family of seven children, Matthew Olson, Mrs. Olof T. Hanson, Mrs. S. Simonson, Mrs. Osmundson, Ed Olson, Ole Olsen and Mrs. Andrew Halvorson.
The remains of the deceased was brought here Monday and the funeral took place yesterday, short services being held at the house and the sermon at the Ellington church at 1 o'clock. Interment was made at the Ellington cemetery.
