Henry Suckow was born January 17, 1899, on a farm in Liberty Township, the youngest of a family of seven children born to his parents Henry L. Suckow and Taldine Brouwer Suckow.

He attended religious instruction at the Liberty Methodist Church and was confirmed during the Pastorate of Rev. H. W. Schneider.

After completing his rural school education, he attended the Garner High School and then completed his business training at Iowa Falls.

Henry Suckow was a victim of Infantile Paralysis when four years old, since then he has walked on crutches, but, he was a bright lad mentally and in spite of this handicap became a good accountant and his services as bookkeeper were always in demand.

He worked as bookkeeper at the State Savings Bank; then at Northern Implement Store, Jacobs Hdw., and was employed by the Klemme Hardware Co.

Henry Suckow was a friendly man, a brilliant conversationalist, and a jolly companion, his ready wit will be missed on Klemme's Main Street.

About a week ago, Henry became ill with Influenza, this with his Asthma was a bad combination, and the end came Friday morning January 20, 1950.

He reached the age of 51 years and three days and leaves to mourn his passing; two sisters ; Etna, Mrs Herman Paul, Garner, Mae, Mrs Lawrence Schaefer, Milwaukee, Wis.,; four brothers: John H. Klemme, Carl of Jennings La., Louis of Mason City, Iowa, and Rev. Will M., many other more distant relatives and friends.

Casket bearers were Bernard Smid, Ernest Henschen, Henry Smid, M.L.Neuberger, Arthur Wille, Wayne Schoenwetter. Interment on the family lot Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme, Iowa.
