Linda Redenius, 66, of Mason City, formerly of Britt, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City

Funeral services for Linda Redenius will be held Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at First Lutheran Church with Pastors Geoffrey and Char White officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation for Linda Redenius will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Linda (Brunner) Redenius was born August 31, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was raised in rural Mason City by her grandparents and graduated from Nora Springs High School with the Class of 1964. Following graduation, she worked as a nurse’s aid at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mason City.

Linda was united in marriage to Elwin Redenius on May 28, 1965 in Mason City, where the couple made their home until moving to the Redenius family farm west of Britt in 1968. Linda moved to Mason City to be closer to her daughters and sister following Elwin’s death in 2005.

Linda enjoyed fishing in northern Minnesota, watching western movies, playing cards, and going to garage sales. She loved the peaceful quiet of the farm, spending time with her children and grandchildren and the company of her dog, Abby.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Sandra Thompson and her children Dylan, Brooke, and Madison of Mason City, Sara Jo Waters and her children Kari and Katelyn of Johnston, Stephanie Redenius and her son Collin Cherry of Mason City, and Susan (Shawn) VanLaere and their children Caleb, Gracelyn, Blake and Claire of Mason City; her sister Bonnie Frenz of Mason City, her aunt Betty Johnson of LuVerne, and her dog, Abby.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Elwin in 2005, her parents, her sister Juanita Downs, and her brothers Robert Frenz and Al “Butch” Frenz.
