Mrs. Henry Nolte rites at Goodell

Goodell - Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Nolte, 70, were held Wednesday, May 13, at 2 p.m. at the Goodell Evangelical United Brethren Church. The Rev. Forrest Lay Officiated.

Mrs. Arthur Savogue, Mrs. Larry Langlitz, Mrs. Bert Groen and Mrs. Verdi Harris sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset", accompanied by Arthur Savogue. Lester VerHelst played organ music and Mrs. Carl Green was in charge of the flowers.

Interment was in the Amsterdam Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Nolte: Roger Blickenderfer of Charles City, John Burrs of Kanawha, James Peterson and Virgil Nolte of Belmond, Edward Peterson and Lauretz Peterson.

Mr. and Mrs. Nolte in company of their son's family, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Nolte, had gone to Leroy, Minn., to be Mother's Day guests in the home of another son, Alvin. About noon, Mrs. Nolte suffered a coronary heart attack and passed away very suddenly.

Veda Christie, daughter of James and Elizabeth Brede Christie, was born August 15, 1893, at Goodell. She received her education in the local school and New Year's Day, 1915, she was married to Henry Nolte of Goodell. They farmed for many years, later moving to Goodell where Mr. Nolte was employed. She was a member of the E.U.B. church and the hospital auxiliary.

Survivors are her husband; four children, George of Adams, Minn.; Bernard of Goodell; Mrs. Merle (Alverta) Peterson of Waverly and Alvin of LeRoy, Minn.; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. George (Ella) Garberich of Wilmar, Minn.; Mrs. Arly (Agnes) Blickenderfer of Charles City; Ione Christie of Goodell, and Mrs. Martin (Clara) Burrs of Kanawha.
