Robert C. McNutt

Funeral services were held Monday, July 27, 1981 at the United Methodist Church in Goodell for Robert Coleman McNutt, 86, who died July 24 at the Belmond Nursing Home. Rev. Don Griffin officiated. Burial was in Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell. Fulton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Robert McNutt was born February 3, 1896, at Goodell to Francis and Clara Stogsdial McNutt. He was educated in the Goodell school. He served in France during World War I. On September 16, 1920 he was married to Edna Allaben in Goodell.

He was a rural mail carrier for 44 years and the past two years he lived at Belmond Nursing Home. He was a member of the Goodell American Legion post and the United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife who died in 1979; his parents, three sisters; a brother and a son, Robert R. McNutt.

Survivors include a son, Gene G. McNutt of Longmont, Colo.; two daughters, Virginia Finn of Albuquerque, New Mex., and Marilyn Erickson of Mediapolis; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a sister, Ethel Whiteaker of Spencer.

Casket bearers were Joe Burgess, Paul Halfpop, Merlin Hanson, Merle Ruka, Vern Schluter and Harold Savogue.
