Frank W. McNutt, Pioneer Resident Of Goodell, Dies
Funeral Was Held Tuesday Afternoon, Buried In Amsterdam

Goodell -This community suffered the loss of another one of its pioneer residents when Frank W. McNutt, 78, died at his home in Goodell Saturday afternoon, Apr. 6, following a long illness.
Frank W. McNutt, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert McNutt, was born May 11, 1867 on a farm south of town in Wright county. He was united in marriage to Miss Clara Stogsdill June 21, 1891, and to this union were born six children.
Mr. McNutt taught in the rural schools of this county when a young man, later taking up the carpenter trade at which he was very capable. In later years he became unable to carry on this heavy work so accepted the position of local postmaster which he held for several years.
He served on the town council, school board and as assessor during the years he lived in the community.
Mr. McNutt's health failed him about 15 years ago, when he was stricken with paralysis. Two years ago he became an invalid, and for the last six weeks was confined to his bed.
He leaves his wife, six children, Mrs. Wm. Berky, (Glen) of Garrison; Gail McNutt of Decatur, Ill.; Robert McNutt and Mrs. E. C. Kienenberger, (Alma) of Goodell; Mrs. A. M. Whitaker, (Ethel) of Spencer and Verle F. McNutt of Marion; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from his home where he lived for over 45 years, with Rev. Carleton Spencer, pastor of the United Brethren church officiating. Burial was made in Amsterdam cemetery.
