Terry "King" Mattoon
September 23, 1947 - July 22, 2012

Terry "King" Mattoon passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at his home in Britt.

Funeral services for Terry Mattoon will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church, 70 5th Avenue NW, in Britt with Pastor Lee Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 70 5th Avenue NW, in Britt and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Terry Alan Mattoon, the son of Lester and Sarah (Miller) Mattoon, was born on September 23, 1947 on a farm Northwest of Britt. He was raised in the Britt area attending school in Britt. Terry graduated from Britt High School in 1965.

Terry was drafted into the Army after high school and served his country for 2 years. Terry received his honorable discharge from the Army in 1971. After the 2 years of active duty, Terry worked at Winnebago before moving to Florida and working for Donny DeKruif power-washing homes.

Terry moved back to Britt in 1975 after his father passed away. Upon returning, Terry began working at Yohn’s where he was employed for the last 36 years.

Terry loved to play cribbage. In his earlier years he played darts and bowled.

Terry is survived by Judy Austerman of Britt; his sister Kathy (Verle) Everett of Britt; brothers: Bill (Diane) Mattoon of Britt and Rick (Pat) Mattoon of Britt; brother-in-law Bob Slobe of Florida; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Nancy Slobe.
