Mrs. Johnson suffered a stroke Sunday May 10th, at the home of their son Jay, where they had spent Mother's Day, and from which she failed to rally. The day had been a happy one for her with her son and family and she had a phone call from her son, Keith, for Mother's Day.

She taught school in Titonka, Kanawha, Ayrshire and Fenton.

On August 9th, 1916, she was united in marriage to Henry J. Johnson at the home of her parents, in Fenton. Three children were born to them; Jay who lives with his family on a farm near Kanawha; Dorthea Alice, who lived but one month, and Keith, who is a member of the engineering corps in the U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Va.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, her son, Keith, and her son, Jay, and his wife, Inez, and their three daughters, JoAnn, Bonnie, and Carol Sue, who were a pride and joy to her. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. H.J. Newel, her sister, Mrs. Margaret Esslinger, her brother, Dr. C. D. Newel, all of Fresno, Calif.; and her friends who were numbered by her acquaintances, all of whom are saddened by the abrupt, close to her life.
