Vera M. (Naser) Hunsley
December 10, 1912 - February 29, 2008

Vera Mae Hunsley, 95, of Story City, formerly of Britt, passed away Friday, February 29, 2008 at Bethany Life Communities in Story City.

Funeral services for Vera Hunsley will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Britt with Pastor Robert Dodge officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation for Vera Hunsley will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Vera Mae Hunsley, the daughter of Layman M. and Emma (Dunham) Naser, was born on December 10, 1912 near Corwith, Iowa. She was baptized in the Christian faith and graduated from Britt High School. After graduation she received her rural teaching diploma and taught rural school in Hancock County for several years. She also worked at Hancock County Memorial Hospital for many years.

Vera was united in marriage with Harold Hunsley on June 9, 1941 in Lawton, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with one daughter, Arlys, who only lived a few short hours. Harold died on January 8, 1975. Vera later married Carl Korneisel on October 22, 1983 and he died February 1, 1987.

Vera was a member of the United Methodist Church in Britt and active in the women’s group and her circle. She was also a member of Rebekah’s Lodge and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Vera liked spending some of her free time on the golf course.

Vera is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Dale Shelton of Deland, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and two husbands; three brothers: Cecil, Donald and Clifford Naser; and three sisters: Vivian Mace, Vira Blankenship and Vida Naser.
