Tom Hamilton Dies - Age 76

Funeral services were held for Thomas Michael Hamilton, 76, at the St. Boniface Catholic church at 9 a.m. Wednesday with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. L. B. Striegel officiating.

Thomas Michael Hamilton, son of Thomas and Mary Hamilton was born at Postville, November 5, 1877. He grew to manhood in the Postville vicinity, later coming to Hancock county where he was married to Ida Meyers on July 10,1906 in Garner.

Two sons were born to this union, Verner of Garner and Francis who died in infancy.

The Hamilton lived in Goodell for about fifteen years where Mr. Hamilton was employed by the Wesenberg Implement company. Later the family came to Garner and for many years Mr. Hamilton was associated with the Wesenberg Implement company here.

He died following a lingering illness at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 26 days.

Survivors include his wife, son Vernon, both of Garner; two brothers, Joseph of Estherville and Steve of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Doud and Mrs. Ethel Forsyth, both of San Mateoe, Calif., three grandchildren and many friends.

Pallbearers were Joseph Hamilton, Michael Roach, Guy Nickelson, Michael Kelly, Edd Lyman, and Edd Thul. Organist for the Missa Lecta of Requiem was Mrs. Barbara Pappas. Usher was Elmer Urich. Interment was in the St. Boniface Cemetery west of town with the Bohn Funeral Home in charge.
