In Memory of Paul Walter Halfpop
December 9, 1908 - January 5, 1986
Paul Walter Halfpop, son of Charles and Amanda Willer Halfpop, was born near Alexander, in Wright County, Iowa, on December 9, 1908. He moved to Goodell area with his family as a small boy, attended schools in the Goodell area, and graduated from Goodell High School as the only member of the class of 1926.
He was united in marriage to Ina Mae Burgess on April 26, 1931 at Garner, Iowa. Paul and Ina resided in the Goodell area all their married life. He was a longtime employee of Hancock County, as a maintainer operator. He retired in 1976 after 38 years of service. Paul was a member of the Mason City Moose Lodge, and a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Goodell.
He died on Sunday, January 5, 1986 at his home.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Ina, his daughter, Mrs. Dick (Catherine) Barkema of Goodell, Ia.; and his son, Bernard Halfpop of Fairmont, Minnesota. 5 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. 4 sisters, Edith Hubbard of Watertown, S. D.; Margaret Christie of Garner, Ia.; Ruby Hoyt of Garner, Ia., and Gladys McNutt of Fargo, N. D.
He is preceded in death by his parents
