Leon Gilpin, 67

Funeral services for Leon Gilpin, 67, of rural Klemme, who died at his home Wednesday afternoon, were held Saturday afternoon at the United Methodist church in Klemme. Rev. Donald Campbell officiated.

Burial was in the Amsterdam cemetery at Goodell with the Willim-Andrew Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Pete Pals junior, Harry Boelman, Virgil Wadddingham, Robert Jernegan, John McCollough and Robert Dotson.

Leon John Gilpin was born May 28, 1906, the son of Clarence and Cora Baker Gilpin in Volga, S. D. He moved with his family to Coquilla, Ore., where he was educated. After he completed his education he came to the Belmond area and farmed.

On Nov. 29, 1932, he was united in marriage to Verbella Riley in Fort Dodge. In 1935 the couple came to a farm near Klemme where they had lived until his death.

Mr. Gilpin was affiliated with the United Methodist church in Klemme.

Mr. Gilpin was preceded in death by his parents and an infant child.

Survivors include his wife, two sons; Clarence of Klemme, and Paul of Davenport; one daughter, Mrs. Willard (Judith) Fenske of Mankato, Minn.; five grandchildren; and two sisters; Mrs. Hazel Whitesell of Ft. Dodge and Mrs. Joe Flossie Lentsch of Morrill, Neb.
