Former Goodell Resident, Mrs. Frank A. Gee, 87, Dies May 24 in Michigan

Goodell - A message reached this community the forepart of the past week that Mrs. Frank A. Gee had died at the home of her daughter, Grace Gee at Centerville, Mich., Saturday evening, May 24.

Alice Ann Auten, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Auten, was born at Mendon, Mich., August 8, 1859, and passed away May 24, 1947, having reached the age of 87 years. She was united in marriage to Frank A. Gee on March 14, 1879. They lived in Michigan for five years, then moved to Kansas where they resided for six years; then to Corwith where they made their home for 24 years and then to Goodell which was their home for 32 years. To this union was born six children.

Mr. and Mrs. Gee lived on their acreage a mile east of town until the death of Mr. Gee, about a year ago, when Mrs. Gee moved to Centerville, Mich., to make her home with here daughter, Grace.

Mrs. Gee was preceded in death by her husband, one infant son and two daughters, who had reached the age of 14 years. Surviving her are two daughters, Grace of Centerville, Mich., and Mrs. Chris Gram (Bessie) of Cedar Falls, one son, Ernest Gee of Corwith, and one granddaughter, Eva Mae Gee of Mason City.

The body was brought to Dows via train by her daughter, Grace, where they were met by funeral home operator of Klemme, who had charge of the funeral.

Funeral services were held from the Evangelical United Brethren church of which she was an ever faithful member, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. F. C. Griewe of Garner officiating.

Mrs. Russell Bell sang two solos, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Paul Veldhouse.

Pallbearers were Tim Gredes, Harvey Wilson, Ira Lanflitz, Merle Avery, Harry Trumbell, and Chas. Peterson. Interment was made in the family lot in Amsterdam cemetery.
