Died at the home of his son, Eugene W.,after a lingering illness, Levi Gartin in the ninetieth year of his life.

Deceased was born in Vermont, October 4th, 1825. He was married to Miss Jane Robinson, and to this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter. Eugene and Herbert of Garner, Oscar of Belmond and Cora who died about five years ago.

The family has been living in Hancock county about forty years and were among the pioneers enduring the hardships and privations of early life in this county.

His wife died about five years ago and the three sons are left to mourn besides other relatives.

Mr. Gartin was a quiet unassuming man who loved the home life and the quiet and contentment it gave more than many, and will be most missed by those who knew him best.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. M. McConnell and the remains were laid At Rest in Concord cemetery.
