Mrs. L. W. Fuller

This community was shocked and surprised last Friday morning, by the announcement of the death of Mrs. L. W. Fuller, who died at the home of her son, S. G. Fuller, 3 miles northeast of Goodell. Mr. and Mrs. Fuller were in Goodell doing some trading on the Monday preceding her death, and on the day before she died seemed to all the family to be enjoying her usual good health. She had been afflicted for several years with asthma and rheumatism.

Mrs. Sophrona Fuller was born in Macena, New York, Sept. 14, 1847, and died at the home of her son northeast of Goodell, Iowa, Oct. 28, 1904. Age 57 years, 1 month and 14 days. She came with her parents to Iowa in October 1863 and was married to L. W. Fuller in Sept. 1866. Four children were born to this union, one dying in infancy. The husband and three children are left to mourn the lose of a loving wife and mother.

It is hard at any time to give up our loved ones, but when one is taken so sudden, it seems we cannot understand why it should be, and if we did not believe that God doeth all things well, it would be almost impossible not to be rebellious, but we can only cast all our sorrows on Him and say: "Thy will be done."

"Death so called, is a thing which makes men weep, and yet a third of life is spent in sleep." Death is dawn, the waking from a weary night of fevers unto truth and light. It is a path that must be trod, if man must ever pass to God. The disruption of family relations makes a dark picture, yet it has a silver lining. The sun shines though overspread by thick and murky clouds.

The funeral services was held at the U. B. Church in Goodell on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. B. Emerson, attended by relatives and a large number of friends. The burial took place at the beautiful cemetery east of town, beside kindred dust, to await the glorious resurrection.

Card of Thanks

We desire to express our heartfelt and sincere thanks to the friends for their help during the funeral and burial of our beloved wife and mother.
