Services held for Cecile Drake, 80
Funeral services for Mrs. Cecile G. Drake, 80, were held last Friday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. from the United Presbyterian church, Garner, with the Rev. Paul G. Gabrialson, pastor of the church, officiating.
Mrs. Drake died on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Good Shepherd Geriatric Center in Mason City, where she had been a patient the last six months.
The Rev. Gabrielson used as his text, John 14:1-3 with the meditation, "Forever with the Lord." Comfort in music was provided by the hymns, "Savior like a Shepherd lead us," and "Sun of my Soul." The pallbearers were: Everette Walk, Donald Wood, Edward Larson, Garry Campbell, Larry Wubben and Jerry Wubben. She was laid to rest in the Bingham Township cemetery at Woden.
At the time of her death she had reached the attained age of 80 years, 11 months, and six days. The Bohn Funeral Home was in charge.
Born Feb. 6, 1890, she was the daughter of Charles and Nellie Johnson Dingman.
Surviving are two sons, Melvin Campbell and Charles Drake, both of Mason City; three daughters, Mrs. Danny (Marguerite) Beisel and Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Fletcher, both of Mason City; Mrs. Kenneth Meckstroth, Garner; 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Drake, Sterling, Ill.; Mrs. Martin (Vivian) Boehnke, Mason City; two brothers, Milton Dingman, Fort Dodge; Milford Dingman, Thompson.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Harm Campbell and William Drake; two sisters and two grandchildren.
