Rites Held Monday - Lynn F. Christians

Special to Garner Leader & Signal

Hayfield - The community was saddened Friday morning, Jan. 27, when it became known that the six-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wynton Christians had smothered in his bed.

The parents had gotten up and she after checking on the boys, went outside to attend to the poultry and returning a short time later, discovered the tragedy. The father rushed him to the Forest City hospital and the doctor pronounced him dead on arrival there.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Gary, age 4, and Paul, age 2, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs P. E. Christians, Ventura and Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner of Marble Rock, and many other relatives.

Lynn Franklin Christians was born at the Municipal hospital at Forest City July 25, 1955, and died January 27, 1956. He was a husky little fellow and always met the world with a smile.

Funeral rites were held at the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Jan. 30 with the Rev. G. J. Hjelmaas in charge, assisted by the Rev. Alfred E. Rau of Ventura, and interment at Concord cemetery at Garner. The minister took his text from Matthew 10:14. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Rensink sang, "When He Cometh" and "Beyond The Sunset", accompanied by Mrs. Ernest Smith at the organ.

Pallbearers were: Dick Christensen, David Golbuff, Larry Kester and Dick Pringle.
