Mrs. C. A. Bast

Mrs. C. A. Bast passed away at a Mason City hospital January 28, after an illness of nine weeks. The funeral was held from St. Boniface Catholic Church on Thursday of last week and the remains laid to rest in the cemetery west of Garner.

Her maiden name was Alma Adeline Doll, and she was born at Lena, Illinois, February 16, 1879. She was united in marriage to C. A. Bast on Feb. 18, 1897. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband, four children, Raymond, Clarence, Mayme and Josephine, also her mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Studer of Wesley. Two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Black of East Moline, Illinois and Mrs. G. B. Naill of Manly, two brothers, F. G. Doll of Colman's Lake S. Dak., and B. A. Doll of Ridott, Ill., all of whom were with her at the time of her death.

Others from out of town who were here were: G. F. Bast of Sycamore, Ill; Joe Spangler of Sheldon, Iowa; Agnes Studer, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Studer, and Alfred Studer, all of Wesley.

The Bast family lived in this vicinity for several years and are highly respected people. The untimely death of Mrs. Bast comes a sad blow to the family, and in this hour of sorrow they have the sympathy of the entire community.
