Lucy C. Hunt was born near Garrison, Iowa on October 31st, 1878, and died at her home near Kanawha, Iowa, Sunday morning, October 10th, 1915, aged thirty seven years.

On December 13th, 1900, she was united in marriage to Mr. George Rust and since that time has made the vicinity of Kanawha her home. To this union were born six children, Vera, Ursal, Opal, Raymond and Louis, who with the husband are left to mourn their loss. One child Ethel May, died when only two days old. Mrs. Rust is also survived by her mother, five sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Rust was a faithful home maker, a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her greatest pleasure was in caring for her family and ministering to the needs of her loved ones. She was a woman of high moral purpose and strong convictions of right and and truth. A kind and respected neighbor she had a very many warm friends who will mourn her departure at just the period in her life when life seemed to hold the most promise of happiness and contentment. To her, however, the passing is but transition and the loved ones left behind must bear the loss.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, October 12th, at the Methodist Episcopal church in Kanawha, conducted by Rev. J. C. Doering of Belmond, and burial was in the Kanawha cemetery.

The bereaved family have the sympathy of all their friends in their irreparable loss and their great consolation comes now from Him who notes even the sparrow's fall.

"The good die not, This heritage they leave, The record of a life well spent, Lives such as their's build their own monument."
