Charles G. Christie 1929-1994
Charles G. Christie, 64, Klemme, who died at his farm home Sunday, Jan. 23, 1994, were held Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2 p.m., at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme with Rev. Don Walters officiating.
Music was provided by organist, Diane Stadtlander.
Honorary casket bearers were Sonny Greenfield, Bob Anderson, Larry Lange, Jesse Schwichtenberg, Joer Negrete and Gary Blank.
Active bearers were Harvey Sturm, Jerry Thompson, Elwyn Etchen, John Haugen, Arlyn Waddingham and John Schwichtenberg.
Burial was at the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme with Tenold Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Charles George Christie, the son of George and Margaret (Halfpop) Christie, was born December 19, 1929 at rural Goodell. He graduated from Klemme High School in 1947 and was united in marriage to Charlotte Lewis in 1948 at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme.
Charles worked for Don's DX, Klemme Hardware Store, Owatonna Tree Trimmers, Blue Ribbon Packing of Mason City, Plagge and Galogly Implement and Central Soya in Belmond.
His special interest was in farming and he and Charlotte farmed for many years west of Klemme.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte of Klemme; sons, Max Christie and his wife, Candace of Meservey, and Bill Christie and his wife, Kristine of Garner; his daughter-in-law, Judy Murphy of Dayton; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Iva Bentzin of Stillwater, MN.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jesse; and his parents.
