Former Depot Agent Buried

Clair B. Reed Rites Held at Funeral Home and Church at Britt

Britt - Funeral services for Clair B. Reed, 53, who died Sunday at the University hospital at Iowa City, were conducted by Boughton's funeral home at 2 o'clock at the home and 2:30 o'clock at the Congregational church Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. A. R. Larson, Congregational pastor, and the Rev. B. A. Rust, Bethel Baptist pastor, had charge of services. Burial was in Concord cemetery at Garner.

He was graduated from the Garner high school in 1906. He attended the Memorial university at Mason City. He started to serve as depot agent at Crystal Lake in 1917 and held this position until 1935 when he retired and with his family moved to Britt. Death was due to heart disease.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Richard, of Council Bluffs; Max, who is located at the U. S. small destroyers' base at San Diego, Cal., and Edgar of Britt and three daughters, Maxine, Margaret and Phyllis at home.

Pallbearers will be Art Runzel, Stoffer Fisher, John Haan, Hans Mortenson, Carl Sonnerholm and Julius Jensen.
