T. J. Osnes, 82, Dies At Home

Former Resident of Ventura Succumbs Following Stroke

Clear Lake - T. J. Osnes, 82, who formerly lived northwest of Ventura, died early Monday morning at his home in the Chadbourne apartments, 108 East State street, following a stroke suffered March 5.

Besides his wife, Mrs Osnes is survived by four daughters, Mrs. George Lunn, Clear Lake; Mrs. Sever Peterson, Fertile; Mrs. Minnie Halverson, Garner, and Mrs. Jacobson, Newman Grove, Nebr.; one son, John Osnes, Ventura, and several grandchildren.

No arrangements for the funeral have been announced. The body was taken to the Bohn funeral home, Garner.

T. J. Osnes Funeral at Ellington Prairie Church Wednesday

Clear Lake - Funeral services for T. J. Osnes, 82, who died early Monday at his apartment, 108 East State street, following a stroke, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the farm home northwest of Ventura and at 2 o'clock at the Ellington Prairie church,

The Rev. C. B. Gunderson, pastor, will conduct the service and burial will be in Ellington Prairie cemetery.

The Bohn funeral home, Garner, is in charge.

Hold Rites For T. J. Osnes, 82

Native of Norway Is Buried in Ellington Prairie Cemetery

Clear Lake - Funeral services for T. J. Osnes, 82, who died at his home at the Chadbourne apartments Monday, were held at the farm home northwest of Ventura and at the Ellington Prairie church Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. C. B. Gunderson conducted the services and burial was in Ellington Prairie cemetery.

Pallbearers were Virgil and Thelen Osnes, Curtis and Albert Halvorson, Stanley Pederson and Paul Nelson, all grandsons.

The Rev. Ruben Mostrom, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church at Clear Lake, sang "Blessed Assurance," Mrs. H. E. Okland sang a Norwegian hymn and Leonard Nelson sang "Beautiful Isla of Somewhere" and "No Disappointment in Heven." The Rev. Mr. Okland, Fertile, and T. H. Stall, also spoke at the services. Many flowers and gifts of money for missions were received.

Mr. Osnes was born in Hougson, Norway, Dec. 21, 1858, the son of Johannes and Bertha Tarrne Jacobson. He came to the United States in 1880 and was married to Anna Pauline Hall in 1886. To them were born nine children. Mrs. Osnes died in 1905 and four children preceded him in death.

In 1920 Mr. Osnes was married to Miss Hilda Johnson of Hougson, Norway, who survives.

Also surviving are five children, Mrs. George Lunn and Mrs. Sever Pederson, Clear Lake; Mrs. R. M. Jacobson, Newman Grove, Nebr.; Mrs. C. A. Halvorson, Garner, and John Osnes, Ventura, 20 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Relatives from away present for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Male and Mr. and Mrs Martin Hall, Malta, Ill,; Mr. and Mrs. Lew McDonald, Cherokee; Olaf Osnes, Omaha, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Johnson and family, Radcliff; and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ashland, Jewell.

Mr. Osnes was a member of the Ellington Prairie church.
