Britt Youth Dies In East

Maurice Doerr, 22, Fatally Hurt When Hit by Automobile

Britt - Word was received here Wednesday of the death of Maurice Doerr, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Doerr. Mr. Doerr died at the Roosevelt hospital in Brooklyn, N. Y., from injuries received when he was struck by an automobile Tuesday night. His brother, Erwin, was with him at the time and was at his death at 12:05 Wednesday noon.

The body is being shipped to the Boughton funeral home in Britt.

Mr. Doerr was a second class seaman in the U. S. navy on the U. S. S. Helena. He had been in the navy for nine months.

He is survived by his parents, Doerr of Britt, and three brothers, William and Leroy at home, and Erwin, in the U. S. navy.

Funeral services under the auspices of the Britt American Legion will be set pending arrival of the body from New York.

Doerr's Rites To Be Tuesday

Military Services Planned for Second Class U. S. Seaman

Britt - Funeral services for Maurice E. Doerr will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the St, Patrick's Catholic church with the Rev. Fr. J. P. Quirin in charge. This will be a military funeral under the auspices of the Britt American Legion. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery.

Doerr was born Dec. 18, 1917 at Wesley, a son of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Doerr. He was graduated from Britt high school with the class of 1937. He was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic church. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Doerr, and three brothers, Erwin, also in the navy, William and Leroy at home.
