Mrs. C. E. Clark Dies At Britt

Retired Farm Wife Was Mother of 13 Children

Britt - Mrs. Charles E. Clark, 76, wife of a retired Britt farmer, died at her home here Saturday at 9:30 p.m. after a long illness.

Mrs. Clark was born in Kossuth county May 4, 1867, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Fisher) Raney. She married Charles E. Clark May 30, 1885.

They farmed for many years in Kossuth county, moving to Hancock county about 30 years ago. A few years ago they retired and moved to Britt.

Surviving are the husband and 12 children. The children are as follows: Mrs. Ray Fitch of Bode; Mrs. Ben Potter of Algona; Mrs. Ben Hartzell of Britt; Mrs. George Johnson of Algona; Mrs. James Ross of Des Moines; Ray L., Decorah; Leo E., Britt; I. M., Woburn, Mass.; Floyd K., Webster City; Howard V., Burt; Ronald V., Britt; Robert M., Humboldt. One child is deceased.

Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mattie Davis, Moorhead, Minn.; Mrs. Lillie Cairy, Sioux City; Mrs. Mary Clark, Pasadena, Cal.; Charles Raney, Lemon, S. Dak.; J. A. Raney, Algona.

Funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of 2 children. The Boughton funeral home is in charge.
