VENTURA - Jacqueline Schuldt Calkins, 68, of Ventura died Friday (November 11, 2011) at the Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake.

Private graveside services will be held at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given in her name to ALS Research (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in care of her sister, Judith Ann Hoppes 15484 Bayberry Ave., Ventura, IA 50482.

Cataldo Funeral Home in Garner is in charge of arrangements.

Jacqueline Schuldt Calkins, the daughter of Milton and Anestel Oleson, was born November 11, 1943 at Cedar Falls, IA. She graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1961 and continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She was married to Leon Calkins and moved to Carlsbad, CA. She later moved back to Iowa and worked in Mason City. Jacque then moved to Cedar Rapids where she was employed at Square D for thirty-nine years as a line leader in the assembly plant. She met and married John Young in the 1980's. In 2006, she moved to Ventura Heights. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her dog and frequent outings for lunch and shopping with friends. Jacque's activities of interest were spending time outdoors, visiting with family and friends and going on outing in the community.

Jacque is survived by her sister, Judith Ann Hoppes of Ventura; a niece, Sherri (Joe) Jares of Cedar Park, TX and their three children, John, Rebecca and Alexander.

Jacque was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, John Young.
