Corwith - Mrs. Fred Yates, 77, died Monday at Hancock County Memorial Hospital after a year's illness.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church at Corwith. The Rev. Frank Considine will officiate. Burial will be in Corwith Cemetery. Visitation will be at Boughton Funeral Home until 10 a.m. Thursday, then at the church until the time of services.

Amanda Christine Unger, daughter of Rasmus and Mathilda Seimsma Unger, was born Feb. 8, 1893, in Illinois. The family moved to the Corwith area when she was a child. She was married Feb. 16, 1922, to Fred Yates at Algona. They had lived in Corwith since 1933. She was a member of Royal Neighbors and the Women's Society of Christian Service.

Surviving are her husband, a brother, Harry Unger, Eagle Grove; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Dora) Bolin, Manchester. She was preceded in death by an infant son, two sisters and three brothers.
