Mrs. Fred Thornbury

Britt - Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Thornbury, 70, will be Saturday at 1:30 at the Methodist Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with Grupe Funeral Home in charge.

Born in Hancock County Aug. 12, 1895, she was the daughter of George and Dora Smith. She was married at Garner June 2, 1914 to Fred Thornbury. They farmed in this area until retiring to Britt.

Surviving are her husband, Fred; two daughters Mrs. Richard Banning, Fontainbleau, France; Mrs. Morris Swan, Britt; three sons, Dean, Offut AFB, Omaha; Jack, Britt; Fred, at home; two brothers, Jesse Smith, Kanawha; Vernon Smith, New Richland, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Alpha Irish, Canton, Ill.; Mrs. August Jeddelah, New Richland; Mrs. T. E. Hayworth, Armstrong; nine grandchildren.
