Guy T. Swenson Service Held in Funeral Chapel
Funeral services for Guy T. Swenson, 40, construction foreman for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. who was killed Friday in a car crash near Britt, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Major Memorial Chapel.
The Rev. Carl J. Sentman, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiated. Mrs. Roy Servison was organist.
Personnel of the district office and the Mason City office of the telephone company attended the services.
Pallbearers were H. E. Motter Jr., A. A. Miller Jr., R. W. Rasmuson, J. R. Brunner, C. D. Lackore and G. L. Jass. Burial was in the Corwith Cemetery.
The Rev. Ronald Hutchins, Corwith, conducted the graveside service at Corwith. Military rites were conducted by the Corwith American Legion Post.

Swenson was born at Webster City, June 30, 1918, son of Andrew and Frieda (Ehlers) Swenson. He spent part of his early years at Corwith. He had lived in Mason City 13 years and had been employed by the telephone company all of that time. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma; daughter, Linda, and two sons, Thomas and Jack, at home; mother Frieda Swenson, Mason City; and two sisters, Mrs. Clint York and Mrs. Duke Roberts, both of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his father in 1934.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Major Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Carl Sentman, pastor of Grace Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Corwith Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 2 p.m. Monday.

Swenson, Guy T., 40, 811 17th N.E., construction foreman for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co., was killed instantly Friday afternoon in a two car crash four miles east of Britt on Highway 18. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Major Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Carl Sentman, pastor of Grace Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Corwith Cemetery.

Suit Filed in Death of Husband
Forest City - A $50,000 damage suit has been filed in District Court here by Wilma M. Swenson, Mason City, against Mrs. Ruby Battleson, Leland, and the estate of the late Lewis T. Battleson.
The charge states that Battleson was negligent on three counts in the collision, March 20, a mile west of Duncan on Highway 18, in which Battleson, 36; Guy Swenson, 40, and Dan Soesbe, 58, were killed, Swenson and Soesbe, both of Mason City, were employed by the Bell Telephone Co.
Mrs. Swenson charges that Battleson failed to keep a proper lookout; that he failed to have his vehicle under control and that he failed to yield half of the right of way.
