Rites Saturday for Mrs. Anton Sorenson, 81

Garner - Funeral services for Mrs. Anton Sorenson, 81, will be held at the Bohn Funeral Home in Garner at 1:15 Saturday and at the Miller Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Arnold Edwards in charge of the service. Burial will be on the family lot in the Ellington Cemetery, with the Bohn Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Sorenson died late Wednesday at a Mason City hospital.

Elvena Christine, daughter of Laura and Peter Christenson, was born on Feb. 22, 1876, in Michigan. On Dec. 27, 1898, she was married to Anton Sorenson.

Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Laura) Stevens, Aredale; Mrs. Ernest (Ida) Halverson, Mason City; Mrs. Holver (Mabel) Pederson, Milwaukee, Wis.; Harvey Sorenson, Garner; Leslie Sorenson and Merle Sorenson, both of Forest City. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Earl Pitkin, Garner, and Mrs. Cina Doyle, Abilene, Kansas; two brothers, Charles Christenson and William Christenson, both of Abilene, Kan.; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in November, 1935, and one sister, Minnie, also preceded her in death.
