Metille Was Returning To Algona On Evening of July Fourth. Left Eleven Children

Lester Metille of Corwith lost his life, the result of an automobile collision at the Seiler corner west of St. Benedict.

Mr. Metille had attended the celebration at Algona on the Fourth. It is reported that he left some of the children here and had gone home to do the chores and was on his return to Algona.

As he reached this corner, which is partly hidden by a grove, a car with William Stoddard, Fred Zwiefel, Mrs. K. C. Will, and Mrs. J. Luchsiger of LuVerne, was coming north and the cars collided. Metille's car was completely demolished and he was fatally injured.

He was brought to the hospital where he died the next morning. The occupants of the LuVerne car were seriously cut and bruised but were able to return to Luverne.

Mrs. Metille died during the winter and now Mr. Metille's death leaves eleven orphans.
