Larry O. Paulsen, 64, of Garner, died on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at the Concord Care Center, Garner.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 2, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Garner, with the Rev. David Wagner officiating. Music was provided by organist, Mary Kopacek who accompanied congregational hymns. Ushers were Todd and Terry Jass.
Casket bearers were Cody Paulsen, Jordan Paulsen, Levi Paulsen, Collin Keppy, Mitchell Keppy and Kara Keppy. Burial was in the Concord Township Cemetery, Garner. The Cataldo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Larry Orlan Paulsen, the son of Orlan "Bud" Jerold and Mazie Clarine (Evanson) Paulsen, was born on April 22, 1941 in Garner. He graduated from the Garner High School in 1959.
On November 18, 1961, he married Faith Ann Rowan at the United Methodist Church in Garner. They lived in Garner where Larry worked at the Post Office until retiring in 1984. He became a resident of the Concord Care Center in 1989. Larry enjoyed his family, grandchildren, camping, golfing and collecting stamps.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garner, Bethel Masonic Lodge No. 319 in Garner and was active in Boy Scouts as a Scout Master.
Survivors include his two children, Kevin (Darcy) Paulsen of Garner and Lori (Myron) Keppy of Port Byron, Illinois; six grandchildren, Cody, Jordan and Levi Paulsen and Collin, Mitchell and Kara Keppy; two sisters, Sharon (Jim) Jass of Garner and Gloria Paulsen of Garner; and his mother-in-law, Doris Weishaar of Garner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faith Ann on November 29, 1981; and his parents.
