Anna Josephine Neswold, the daughter of Anton and Anastasia (Bina) Malecek, was born on December 31, 1908 at Rolfe. At the age of 10 she moved with her family to a farm near Wesley where she attended country school. Anna was able to read and speak Czech, which she used throughout her life.
