FARMER KILLED IN EXPLOSION
Duncan Resident Meets Death While Blasting Rock
BRITT, Sept. 24 - Frank Vavrick, living on a farm one mile west of Duncan was killed Saturday morning while blasting rock. Mr. Vavrick had been going to the field for several mornings and blasting rock before breakfast.
On Saturday morning when he did not return to the house, his wife became anxious and went to call him. She found her husband lying in the field dead and very badly disfigured.
The funeral was held at 8 o'clock Sunday morning at St. Venssieus church at Duncan, the Rev. Father Kopecky conducting the services. Burial was in the Duncan cemetery.
Mr. Vavrick leaves his wife and six children, three boys and two girls at home and a married daughter, Mrs. Frank Formanek. He was born in Bohemia, coming later to America. The family resides on a 80 acre tract near Duncan and besides this Mr. Vavrick did plastering and mason work for Mr. Victoria of Britt for the past 25 years.
Mr.and Mrs. Vavrick celebrated their twenty fifth wedding anniversary about three years ago.
