Former Britt Resident Dies in Milwaukee

Britt - Mrs. James (Hattie) Mackin, 88, died at a hospital in Milwaukee, Wis., Thursday morning following an extended illness. She was a former resident of Britt, having lived here more than 50 years.

Funeral services are set for 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Monica's Church in Milwaukee. The remains will be brought to Britt where a prayer will be said at the Boughton Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Sunday. The Rev John P. Smith will officiate. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery here.

Mrs. Mackin was born Nov. 24, 1866, at St. Charles, Ill., the daughter of Edwin and Isabel Rood. On June 20, 1900, she was married to James Mackin at Britt. They moved to Granville, N. D., where they farmed for many years, later returning to Britt for retirement.

Her husband died on July 1, 1935.

Surviving is one sister, Mrs. W. C. Eckenrod, Milwaukee, and several nieces and nephews.
