J. Kutzner memorial is Tuesday

CLEAR LAKE: Memorial services for James W. Kutzner, 25, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Ventura. The Rev. E. M. Miller, pastor, will officiate. The Ward Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr. Kutzner died Tuesday in his apartment in Rochester, N. Y., after a short illness. He was an art student at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Private interment will be held pending arrival of the ashes from New York. Cremation was held in New York, according to the previous request of the deceased.

James Wesley Kutzner was born May 10, 1936, at Mason City, to Wesley H. and Viva Stork Kutzner. He was graduated from Ventura High School and attended the State College of Iowa, Cedar Falls, four years.

He attended the Rochester Institute of Technology two years and studied in Denmark in 1960-61 as an exchange student and then returned to Rochester.

He is survived by his mother, Viva Kutzner, Ventura, father, Wesley Kutzner, Springville, Calif., and one sister, Jeanne Brunner, Anaheim, Calif.

The family requested any memorials be made to the building fund of the church.

Pottery Exhibit

[Art League program at Mason City Public Library]

.... In addition to three movies, there will be a display of pottery, including a number of items made by the late Jim Kutzner of Ventura. It had been in the plans of the League to exhibit his work at this meeting, and after his death, the decision was made to go ahead with this exhibit as a posthumous tribute to this young artist.

Jim Kutzner was a native of Ventura. He was graduated from Ventura High School and attended the State College of Iowa at Cedar Falls. In 1958 he was admitted to the Rochester Institute of Technology and in 1960 studied in Denmark. He died in his New York studio Dec. 26, 1961. .....
