OBITUARY

Rebecca Miller was born in La Salle County, Ill., Oct. 8, 1846, where she lived until 1902. At that time she came to Goodell where she died at the home of her son, John, Sept. 17, 1922, age 75 years, 11 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Joel Martin Dominy in 1866, who departed this life July 28, 1922.

To this union were born 7 children, Mrs. Cora Rea, of Plattsburg, N. Y., Mrs. Jessie Par, of Sheridan, Ill., Mrs. Rosa Woods and Harry L. Dominy of Estherville, and Frank and John of Goodell who survive her and William who died January 28, 1921.

Grandma Dominy as she was commonly called was a loving mother, her interests being to the welfare and care of her children, as well as to her neighbors. No one ever came to her home but what the best that home afforded was liberally and unselfishly given them.

Many are the good deeds inscribed in the book of Mrs. Dominy's life. But God had decided that her life's work was finished, and the mother whom they loved and who in turn adored them breathed her last.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the home of her son, Rev. Leinbach, of Belmond, officiating. Interment was made in the Evergreen Cemetery east of Goodell.
