Alpha C. Lloyd

BRITT: Alpha C. (Spike) Lloyd, 66, died Saturday at Ritter's Oakwood Manor in Clear Lake, following a long illness.

Born Oct. 18, 1906 in Wesley, he was the son of George W. and Ida Irish Lloyd. He attended Iowa State University four years. He had worked in the Smith Grocery Store and Winnebago Industries until 1970 when he retired.

He was married to Merle Ludeke April 3, 1939 in Spirit Lake.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. John (Judy) Mettler, Waseca, Minn.; two sons, Douglas and Larry Lloyd, both of Britt; his stepmother, Mrs. Grace Lloyd, Britt; and a stepsister, Mrs. Richard Madson, Wesley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church. The Rev. Howard Eldrenkamp will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with Grupe Funeral Home in charge.
