Services for Carol Lewis, 88, of Britt, who died Friday, Feb. 26, 1988, were held Wednesday, March 2, 11 a.m., at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Britt with Rev. Clyde Lee officiating.

Music was provided by Donna Tech, organist. Ushers were Frank Whetstone and Jim Miller.

Casket bearers were Dr. M. H. Peterson, Richard Grifhorst, Harold Jacobson, Harold Wallen, Bob Korneisel and Dave Byers.

Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery at Britt with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Carol Lewis, the daughter of Newton E. and Josephine Jacobson Isaacs, was born April 20, 1899 in Thompson. She was a graduate of the Thompson High School and attended Northwestern University.

On December 25, 1919, she married Cecil P. Lewis at Thompson. They owned and operated a merchandising business in Britt from 1919 to 1964. She was a member of the Britt Congregational United Church and various social clubs in Britt.

Carol is survived by one son, Charles P. and wife, Carol, Hurst, TX; two grandchildren, Linda Garcia, Lewisville, TX and Susan Hargrove, New Orleans, LA; three great grandchildren, Eric Hargrove, New Orleans, LA, and Stacey and Kimberly Garcia, Lewisville, TX; two sisters, Mrs. Carmen Preston and husband, Stanley, Grinnell, and Mrs. Margaret McIntire and husband, Ernest, Clear Lake; and one brother, Roy and wife, Catherine, West Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil Lewis on October 23, 1974; and one sister, Ruth.
