BRITT: Mona L. Landsberg, 86, of Britt died Friday (Jan. 25, 2002) at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Her funeral will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the United Methodist Church in Britt, with the Revs. Robert Dodge and Larry Vallery officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Cataldo Funeral Home, Britt, and will continue one hour before services at the church on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hancock County Memorial Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Mona L. Landsberg, 86, of Britt died Friday, January 25, 2002, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt.
Funeral services for Mrs. Landsberg were held Monday, January 28 at the United Methodist Church in Britt with the Revs. Robert Dodge and Larry Vallery officiating. Music was provided by organist, Tammy Johnson who accompanied soloist, John Chambers and a congregational hymn. Ushers were Harry Smith and Dennis Zuehl.
Honorary bearers were John and Paula Chambers, Amy and Derwin Dornbier and Emily and Chad Stevens. Burial will be at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery, Britt. The Cataldo Funeral Home, Britt was in charge of the arrangements.
Mona Lorraine Landsberg, the daughter of Edwin and Martha (Wickersheim) Schmidt, was born March 9, 1915 at Meservey. She graduated from the Belmond High School in 1932 and attended cosmetology school in Des Moines.
On August 24, 1934, she was united in marriage to Edward Landsberg on the shores of Spirit Lake. They made their home in Belmond for a year and then moved to Britt where Mona was a hair stylist for over 50 years.
She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, great-grand-children and her friends. She also enjoyed golfing, knitting, doing crossword puzzles, reading, traveling, playing tennis and conducting church services with her husband for the residents of the Westview Care Center in Britt.
She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Britt, where she was Sunday School Superintendent, taught Sunday School and was active in UMW and the church choir. She also belonged to the Britt Senior Citizens, Rebekah Lodge and was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Chambers and her husband, Norman of Corwith and Martha Landsberg of Moulton, Iowa; three grandchildren, John Chambers and his wife, Paula and their three children, Nathan, Laura and Stefan, Amy Dornbier and her husband, Derwin and their two children, Sydney and Ryley and Emily Stevens and her husband, Chad; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Landsberg was preceded in death by her husband, Ed on March 19, 1989; granddaughter, Laura Chambers, May 13, 1989; her parents; and two sisters, Ina Olsen and Nina Dorr.
