Woman Dies at Kanawha
Kanawha - Mrs. Menno Swyter, 65, died at the Belmond Hospital Wednesday afternoon following a serious illness the past two weeks. She had been suffering from a heart condition.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church preceded by a prayer for the immediate family and close relatives at the family home. The remains will be taken to the Swyter residence Friday morning. The Boughton Funeral Home, Britt, is in charge.
Lubena Blank, daughter of Luppo and Elsie Blank, was born Oct. 31, 1891, at Belmond. She attended school near there. On Nov. 6, 1910, she was married to Menno Swyter. They farmed near Britt and Kanawha all of their lives. Mrs. Swyter was a member of the Christian Reformed Church and was active in various circles of church groups.
She is survived by her husband; two children, Gerald, Kanawha, and Mrs. Herman (Elsie Mae) Eekhoff, Kanwha; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Blank and Alzo Blank, both of Klemme, and three sisters, Miss Grace Blank, Klemme; Mrs. Gerorge (Reka) Eenhuis and Mrs. Henry (Elsie) Betten, Kanawha.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys, and two brothers, John and Ben Blank.
