Give Obituary, Father Of Roy L. McMillin

Following is the obituary of James V. McMillin who died November 21 in Britt, at the age of 90.

J. V. McMillin was born Feb. 22, 1860, at Lake City, Minn. He married Miss May Collins on February 22, 1883. After starting married life at Sanborn, North Dakota, they moved to Ellendale, N. D., where their three children born in the couple's farm home.

After living a short time in Minnesota, they came in 1898, to Iowa, and settled in the Britt vicinity, living the majority of the time at Britt. They lived, at Stilson, Hutchins and Fostoria also.

The late Mr. McMillin followed at various times the occupations of farming, stock buying, operating a restaurant, and store keeping.

Before Mrs. McMillin died, in October, 1944, they had celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Their golden wedding was celebrated in 1933 at Roy's home here in Garner.

The Roy McMillins had been living with the elder Mr. McMillin in his Britt home since May 12.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Lloyd, in 1933 and their daughter Mrs. B. O. Board in 1934. Son Roy McMillin, four grandchildren, one brother and one sister survive.
