Resident Of Corwith 40 Years Passes
Corwith - Fairview, Feb. 27 - Mrs. Hugh D. Gordon, 64, died at the home in Corwith a week ago Monday afternoon, following a sort illness. She had been a resident of Corwith for 40 years.
Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church with the Rv. Father Quirin in charge. Burial was made at St. Mary's cemetery.
Mrs. Gordon, formerly Anna Augusta Kintz, was born in Somerset, Ohio, on October 29, 1875. November 28, 1899, she was married to Hugh D. Gordon, of Arcol, Ill., at the Holy Trinity church at Somerset. The moved to Corwith that same year.
Surviving Mrs. Gordon are her husband; three daughters; Mrs. Josephine Flynn, of Buffalo Center; Mrs. Ruth Oxley, of Corwith; and Mrs. Lucille Huber, of Buffalo Center; seven sons, Fred, of Flint, Mich., Harry of San Diego, Cal., Raymond, of Ledyard; Anthony, of Independence; William of Scott's Bluff, Nebraska; Hugh, Jr., of Woodburn; and Fabian, of Corwith.
There are 23 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Savey, of Flint, Mich., and Sister M. Thomasena, of Cincinnati, Ohio.
